Tax Day.
I only wish we could write off all of the expenses we are going to incur. Paying the IRS took a big chunk out of the funds we've set aside for our film. I didn't realize we made so much money last year. It certainly didn't seem like it.
We are hustling today to put together our package for the L.A. Film Collaborative's Production Grant Program. Although the script is developed to the point we want it and we have a budget and schedule; getting it all to look just right is the topic of the day. Additionally we are struggling with our bio's. I haven't had to explain to anyone what I've been doing with my life thus far for quite a few years.
I have a good feeling that our project is well suited for this particular grant program as it is artistic and experimental while still being commercial. In any case it's only going to cost us $85 and two scripts and a bunch of paperwork to find out. Besides, the project will get industry exposure and we'll get "coverage." I'd like to find out what the Hollywood establishment thinks of Double Down.
