The RESFEST tour finally made a stop here in good old Los Angeles. David and I had a chance to go see the program Wednesday and last night. I really enjoyed "Better Living Through Circuitry," a documentary about the Rave/Techno culture. It was all shot on DV using the Sony VX1000. We saw a 35mm print transferred from video by 4MC. The results were surprisingly great. It looked comparable to stuff originating on 16mm, except for the few times the camera operator decided to push the gain up or [presumably] use the digital zoom. All in all we were very impressed.

It gave us even more confidence that a DV feature is the way for us to go.
