A 3D Logo we created for KSCI-TV in Los Angeles

 

 

 

 

 

 

The globe in this sequence has 24 layers of live, tinted video mapped on to it. The video clips were selected by KSCI based on their cultural and international flavor.

 

 

Interestingly, the only 3D in this spot is the type. The globe was created in After Effects, using a plug-in from MetaTools' Final Effects. The 3D type was rendered with motion blur in Electric Image.

 

 

The client wasn't sure if the station ID would need to hold on screen for longer than the 10-seconds it was designed. We eased the globe to a stop and used After Effects excellent time-remapping feature to have the background slow down into a freeze frame as well. It looks much nicer than an abrupt freeze.
