This Hot Project was created for Skechers. It's a 30-second spot designed for the international market and featuring their distinctive line of shoes. Video was shot on Beta SP. Edit was done in Media 100. Software tools include After Effects, Texturescape, Photoshop, ElectricImage, Illustrator, and Elastic Reality.

Dancers were shot on a blue screen. Since we knew we were only going to use their silhouettes, we focused more on lighting the background and ensuring it was smooth. In After Effects we created a garbage matte to get rid of c-stands and sandbags.

The resulting matte was brought into its own composition and squeezed horizontally, to prevent the dancers from becoming "bloated" when we spherized them. The matte was applied to an orange solid and put on a red background.

Several different shots of dancers were spherized and float by. This was done in After Effects using a Final Effects plug-in. The product shots [insert] were done on a green screen. A garbage matte was used again to cut off the monofilament.

In the resulting final shot, Skechers shoes float by and warp into the center of screen as lava lamp-like balls with dancers on them drift by.
