A skewed flair of power pop with discernable choruses and heavy guitars describes the songsmithing of Ten Pound Troy. Spawned from the depths of suburbia (like everyone else), without a scene to rely on, without reward, with some respect, and no remorse, they've spent the past 10 to 16 years (depending on the members) in various bands, churning out shit that sparked no interest by anyone. This especially includes the many merciless club promoters who were unwilling to pay a measly $20 pittance for gas money after the bar made over a thousand.
During the past two years they've collectively songsmithed a good set of power pop laced songs and played over 100 shows in the L.A.- Orange County area, including an independent music festival in New Orleans, Louisiana. Their methodology is partially based upon their KISS philosophy (actually when you listen real close they kind of sound like a cross between KISS and The Jam). It's definitely American, nothing complex and more specifically Californian, if there could be such a thing.
